Shaping the Future of Precision Rubber Manufacturing

Ortofon Microtech is participating in an innovation project focused on advancing the production of precision rubber components through new manufacturing technologies and increased automation. The project is carried out in collaboration with the Danish Technological Institute.

Project purpose

The purpose of the project is to develop and validate a more efficient manufacturing process based on rubber injection moulding. By optimising the overall production flow and adapting rubber compounds to the new process, Ortofon Microtech aims to reduce manual operations, increase productivity and establish a scalable production platform for high-volume manufacturing of precision rubber components.

The project will support Ortofon Microtech's ability to meet growing demand for larger production volumes while maintaining the high quality, consistency and precision required by industries such as the medical device sector.

What we are working on

A key focus of the project is introducing rubber injection moulding as a new production technology for small precision rubber components with tight tolerances.

Together with the Danish Technological Institute, Ortofon Microtech will work on optimising the production process, adapting selected rubber compounds for injection moulding, testing and validating the new manufacturing method, and documenting improvements in productivity and quality.

The knowledge and results generated through the project are expected to provide a foundation for future investments in production technology and support Ortofon Microtech's continued development within advanced precision rubber manufacturing.
